Psalm 21
1To the Overseer. -- A Psalm of David. Jehovah, in Thy strength is the king joyful, In Thy salvation how greatly he rejoiceth.
2The desire of his heart Thou gavest to him, And the request of his lips Thou hast not withheld. Selah.
3For Thou puttest before him blessings of goodness, Thou settest on his head a crown of fine gold.
4Life he hath asked from Thee, Thou hast given to him -- length of days, Age-during -- and for ever.
5Great is his honour in Thy salvation, Honour and majesty Thou placest on him.
6For Thou makest him blessings for ever, Thou dost cause him to rejoice with joy, By Thy countenance.
7For the king is trusting in Jehovah, And in the kindness of the Most High He is not moved.
8Thy hand cometh to all Thine enemies, Thy right hand doth find Thy haters.
9Thou makest them as a furnace of fire, At the time of Thy presence. Jehovah in His anger doth swallow them, And fire doth devour them.
10Their fruit from earth Thou destroyest, And their seed from the sons of men.
11For they stretched out against Thee evil, They devised a wicked device, they prevail not,
12For Thou makest them a butt, When Thy strings Thou preparest against their faces.
13Be Thou exalted, O Jehovah in, Thy strength, We sing and we praise Thy might!
Psalm 22
1To the Overseer, on ‘The Hind of the Morning.' -- A Psalm of David. My God, my God, why hast Thou forsaken me? Far from my salvation, The words of my roaring?
2My God, I call by day, and Thou answerest not, And by night, and there is no silence to me.
3And Thou art holy, Sitting -- the Praise of Israel.
4In Thee did our fathers trust -- they trusted, And Thou dost deliver them.
5Unto Thee they cried, and were delivered, In Thee they trusted, and were not ashamed.
6And I am a worm, and no man, A reproach of man, and despised of the people.
7All beholding me do mock at me, They make free with the lip -- shake the head,
8‘Roll unto Jehovah, He doth deliver him, He doth deliver him, for he delighted in him.'
9For thou art He bringing me forth from the womb, Causing me to trust, On the breasts of my mother.
10On Thee I have been cast from the womb, From the belly of my mother Thou art my God.
11Be not far from me, For adversity is near, for there is no helper.
12Many bulls have surrounded me, Mighty ones of Bashan have compassed me,
13They have opened against me their mouth, A lion tearing and roaring.
14As waters I have been poured out, And separated themselves have all my bones, My heart hath been like wax, It is melted in the midst of my bowels.
15Dried up as an earthen vessel is my power, And my tongue is cleaving to my jaws.
16And to the dust of death thou appointest me, For surrounded me have dogs, A company of evil doers have compassed me, Piercing my hands and my feet.
17I count all my bones -- they look expectingly, They look upon me,
18They apportion my garments to themselves, And for my clothing they cause a lot to fall.
19And Thou, O Jehovah, be not far off, O my strength, to help me haste.
20Deliver from the sword my soul, From the paw of a dog mine only one.
21Save me from the mouth of a lion: -- And -- from the horns of the high places Thou hast answered me!
22I declare Thy name to my brethren, In the midst of the assembly I praise Thee.
23Ye who fear Jehovah, praise ye Him, All the seed of Jacob, honour ye Him, And be afraid of Him, all ye seed of Israel.
24For He hath not despised, nor abominated, The affliction of the afflicted, Nor hath He hidden His face from him, And in his crying unto Him He heareth.
25Of Thee my praise is in the great assembly. My vows I complete before His fearers.
26The humble do eat and are satisfied, Praise Jehovah do those seeking Him, Your heart doth live for ever.
27Remember and return unto Jehovah, Do all ends of the earth, And before Thee bow themselves, Do all families of the nations,
28For to Jehovah is the kingdom, And He is ruling among nations.
29And the fat ones of earth have eaten, And they bow themselves, Before Him bow do all going down to dust, And he who hath not revived his soul.
30A seed doth serve Him, It is declared of the Lord to the generation.
31They come and declare His righteousness, To a people that is borne, that He hath made!
Psalm 23
1A Psalm of David. Jehovah is my shepherd, I do not lack,
2In pastures of tender grass He causeth me to lie down, By quiet waters He doth lead me.
3My soul He refresheth, He leadeth me in paths of righteousness, For His name's sake,
4Also -- when I walk in a valley of death-shade, I fear no evil, for Thou art with me, Thy rod and Thy staff -- they comfort me.
5Thou arrangest before me a table, Over-against my adversaries, Thou hast anointed with oil my head, My cup is full!
6Only -- goodness and kindness pursue me, All the days of my life, And my dwelling is in the house of Jehovah, For a length of days!
Psalm 24
1A Psalm of David. To Jehovah is the earth and its fulness, The world and the inhabitants in it.
2For He on the seas hath founded it, And on the floods He doth establish it.
3Who goeth up into the hill of Jehovah? And who riseth up in His holy place?
4The clean of hands, and pure of heart, Who hath not lifted up to vanity his soul, Nor hath sworn to deceit.
5He beareth away a blessing from Jehovah, Righteousness from the God of his salvation.
6This is a generation of those seeking Him. Seeking Thy face, O Jacob! Selah.
7Lift up, O gates, your heads, And be lifted up, O doors age-during, And come in doth the king of glory!
8Who is this -- ‘the king of glory?' Jehovah -- strong and mighty, Jehovah, the mighty in battle.
9Lift up, O gates, your heads, And be lifted up, O doors age-during, And come in doth the king of glory!
10Who is He -- this ‘king of glory?' Jehovah of hosts -- He is the king of glory! Selah.
Psalm 25
1By David. Unto Thee, O Jehovah, my soul I lift up.
2My God, in Thee I have trusted, Let me not be ashamed, Let not mine enemies exult over me.
3Also let none waiting on Thee be ashamed, Let the treacherous dealers without cause be ashamed.
4Thy ways, O Jehovah, cause me to know, Thy paths teach Thou me.
5Cause me to tread in Thy truth, and teach me, For Thou art the God of my salvation, Near Thee I have waited all the day.
6Remember Thy mercies, O Jehovah, And Thy kindnesses, for from the age are they.
7Sins of my youth, and my transgressions, Do not Thou remember. According to Thy kindness be mindful of me, For Thy goodness' sake, O Jehovah.
8Good and upright is Jehovah, Therefore He directeth sinners in the way.
9He causeth the humble to tread in judgment, And teacheth the humble His way.
10All the paths of Jehovah are kindness and truth, To those keeping His covenant, And His testimonies.
11For Thy name's sake, O Jehovah, Thou hast pardoned mine iniquity, for it is great.
12Who is this -- the man fearing Jehovah? He directeth him in the way He doth choose.
13His soul in good doth remain, And his seed doth possess the land.
14The secret of Jehovah is for those fearing Him, And His covenant -- to cause them to know.
15Mine eyes are continually unto Jehovah, For He bringeth out from a net my feet.
16Turn Thou unto me, and favour me, For lonely and afflicted am I.
17The distresses of my heart have enlarged themselves, From my distresses bring me out.
18See mine affliction and my misery, And bear with all my sins.
19See my enemies, for they have been many, And with violent hatred they have hated me.
20Keep my soul, and deliver me, Let me not be ashamed, for I trusted in Thee.
21Integrity and uprightness do keep me, For I have waited on Thee.
22Redeem Israel, O God, from all his distresses!
Psalm 26
1By David. Judge me, O Jehovah, for I in mine integrity have walked, And in Jehovah I have trusted, I slide not.
2Try me, O Jehovah, and prove me, Purified are my reins and my heart.
3For Thy kindness is before mine eyes, And I have walked habitually in Thy truth.
4I have not sat with vain men, And with dissemblers I enter not.
5I have hated the assembly of evil doers, And with the wicked I sit not.
6I wash in innocency my hands, And I compass Thine altar, O Jehovah.
7To sound with a voice of confession, And to recount all Thy wonders.
8Jehovah, I have loved the habitation of Thy house, And the place of the tabernacle of Thine honour.
9Do not gather with sinners my soul, And with men of blood my life,
10In whose hand is a wicked device, And their right hand is full of bribes.
11And I, in mine integrity I walk, Redeem me, and favour me.
12My foot hath stood in uprightness, In assemblies I bless Jehovah!
